Gilad Atzmon's New Book: The Wandering Who? A Study Of Jewish Identity Politics

Jewish identity is tied up with some of the most difficult and contentious issues of today. The purpose in this book is to open many of these issues up for discussion. Since Israel defines itself openly as the ‘Jewish State’, we should ask what the notions of ’Judaism’, ‘Jewishness’, ‘Jewish culture’ and ‘Jewish ideology’ stand for. Gilad examines the tribal aspects embedded in Jewish secular discourse, both Zionist and anti Zionist; the ‘holocaust religion’; the meaning of ‘history’ and ‘time’ within the Jewish political discourse; the anti-Gentile ideologies entangled within different forms of secular Jewish political discourse and even within the Jewish left. He questions what it is that leads Diaspora Jews to identify themselves with Israel and affiliate with its politics. The devastating state of our world affairs raises an immediate demand for a conceptual shift in our intellectual and philosophical attitude towards politics, identity politics and history.

Operation Security Roof (satire)*

By Gilad Atzmon

Following the IDF difficulties in defeating Hamas’s ballistic warfare, the Israeli Government is now searching for contractors with some advanced experience in large scale reinforced concrete constructions. The mission ahead is the building of a solid concrete roof over the entire Jewish State.  PM Netanyahu is determined that the only way to defend Israel’s populated area is to cover the Jewish State with a thick layer of iron and cement.

The Israeli Government’s decision to build a concrete roof followed a considerable debate within the cabinet. Defence Minister Ehud Barak insisted that a massive extension of the current Security Wall would be enough to provide the goods. Barak maintained that a substantial increase of the wall to the height of 90,000 ft. would be more than sufficient to stop missiles from entering Israeli territory. He sensibly argued that Israeli youngsters would benefit from seeing the blue sky when they raise their eyes above. Prime Minister Netanyahu couldn’t agree less. Being fully aware of the nature of ballistic warfare, the PM contended that the only way to provide the Jewish State with the ultimate security is to cover it from above with a reinforced concrete shield. Israeli President Shimon Peres, the legendary peace enthusiast, offered a compromise inspired by the idea of a trampoline. Peres suggested that a Security Wall’s 90,000 ft. extension made of an elastic net would do the job. The elder statesman argued that an elastic net will guarantee that every Palestinian missile aimed at Israel would bounce back to the Arab territory once it hits the net. Netanyahu and Barak dismissed Peres’s suggestion. They argued that considering the excessive Israeli usage of artillery and missiles against the Gazans, the Jewish State would suffer far more from the erection of such a ‘bouncy net’. “Israel,” said Barak, “would never survive the extent of its own fierce artillery barrages bouncing back on itself.”

In a press conference following the heated cabinet debate, the Government spokesman Mr Zion Zioni stressed that “following the total success of the Security Wall in stopping Palestinian suicidal terror, ‘Security Roof’ is obviously the natural way to proceed.” Mr Zioni maintained as well that the new Israeli project will turn the Jewish State into a “sealed Jewish Bunker”. “In fact,” Zioni emphasised, “‘Operation Security Roof’ brings the Zionist adventure into its final destination. We are now moving from the ‘Iron Wall’ phase into the ‘Concrete Roof’ future. With a reinforced concrete ceiling from above, a Security Wall in the East and the Mediterranean Sea in the West, the Jewish State will eventually become the safest haven for world Jewry. Herzl’s dream comes true. Long Live Israel!”

Yet, some technical difficulties lay ahead. Probably the most crucial problem has something to do with breathing. Like the rest of the humankind,  most Israeli people consume oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Apparently, the Israeli cabinet Ministers were made aware of this very crucial fact by the Health Minister Dr. Herbal Krechtzen. Netanyahu, being a man of action, responded immediately. Already in the cabinet meeting he authorised the Defence Ministry to explore different solutions to the acute biological problem.

No 1 in Gaza this Week (must watch)

Some send messages in bottles; the Gazans send them in rockets.  The message is simple and clear.

‘My lands, my soil, don’t lose your hope on us. We are here surrounded by barbed wire, but time will come soon for us to unite.’

Update: I was notified today that this clip may as well be part of the Israeli Hasbara campaign. I obviously do not posses the time and the energy to investigate it all. However, Israel stole the land, Israelis like humus and Falafel, so they may as well be capable of performing  a proper Palestinian militant debka. I am sure Ali Abu-Regev can improve on that front...

Gilad Atzmon on Spanish National, Part 2

Here is the second part of my interview on the Spanish National Radio, the previous interview led to some Israeli Hasbara outrage. Let's see whether they can cope with this one.... We discussed issues to do with ethics, The Spanish Civil War, Jewish interventionist wars and  Neo Conservatism ,  Left barbarism, Enlightenment and 'progressive' genocidal philosophy. I also spoke in support of Iran and its nuclear project.

I expect Hasbara agents to freak out once  again

Israel and its widespread propaganda - an interview

http://www.infopal.it/gilad-atzmon-israel-and-its-widespread-propaganda/

Infopal. Interview with the musician and writer Gilad Atzmon.

(English and Italian version)

Angela Lano. In your article “Pillar of Biblical Cloud” you wrote that Israel is trying to win the election in January by presenting a “pile of Palestinian corpses”. Do you think that this new military operation against Gaza has a propaganda” reason?

Gilad Atzmon: It certainly is there to serve Netanyahu’s and Barak’s personal political interests. I believe that these two warmongers had, initially, a limited military operation in mind, but now it is escalating, and, as in the case of Lebanon 2006, it is pretty much out of control. Due to some obvious state of detachment, Israelis fail to learn from their past.

AL. Why do the Israeli lawmakers use biblical references for their wars against Gaza?

GA: Because Israel is the Jewish State, and Biblical rage fuels Zionism and Israeli politics with ’spiritual’ meaning.

AL: We know that many of them have a secular background.

GA: Jewish secularism is a funny concept. It is a ‘spiritual-less’, Godless ‘religion’. Secular Jews don’t believe in God but, rather too often, they kill in his name.

AL. The pro-Palestinian discourse is deeply infiltrated by Zionist elements or groups, even within the second and the third Freedom Flotillas. How do you explain such a phenomenon?

Crucial Update: Netanyahu Says No to Ground Operation

By Gilad Atzmon

Ynet reported a few hours ago that Netanyahu gave private assurances to US President Obama that Israel is not planning a ground operation in Gaza yet.

"According to two American officials who were briefed on the phone conversation between Netanyahu and Obama, the PM said Israel  would not consider a full-scale ground invasion of Gaza unless there was escalation from Hamas or an attack that caused significant casualties."

The verdict is clear, PM Netanyahu tries to avoid his predecessors’ mistakes. But can he? The Israelis want to see blood, they are desperate for a victory, they want to see Gaza and the Hamas wiped out.

From Stalingrad to Gaza with Love

By Gilad Atzmon

Benjamin Netanyahu, is made of different material than Barak.  Unlike Bark, who is obsessed with the banal implementation of military power, Netanyahu is concerned with  the power of deterrence and he is also intelligent enough to realise that the consequences of a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip may mean the total eradication of such a power. A large scale deployment of infantry is a complicated thing. It would lead to violent clashing with hostile civilians in a heavily populated urban territory, endless cases of inevitable war crimes and crimes against humanity, international condemnation, unavoidable conflict with Israeli allies and so on.  Also, such an escalation will prove, once again how resilient the Palestinian society is, as opposed to the vulnerable Israeli people.  Let me tell you, this is not what Netanyahu had in mind two weeks ago when he decided to slaughter just a few Palestinians in order to win the next Israeli election.

Netanyahu prefers to kill Palestinians from afar, to missile them from Israeli Navy battle ships, drones and F16s. Israel had initially a limited operative plan ahead of Operation Pillar of Cloud.  But, it didn’t take more than a few hours for Israeli generals to realise that they were ambushed by the Hamas. Like Lebanon 2006, Israel was far from being ready for this conflict. It failed to realised that the Hamas has been preparing itself for this battle. Earlier on today, I saw on BBC News, a  Palestinian flag waving on top of a wreckage of house in Gaza that was flattened by Israel during the night. The message was clear: Hamas is ready to make Gaza into Stalingrad.  The Israeli generals realise it, some of them are clever enough to grasp the fate of their soldiers if they decide to move in. They are not prepared to be Netanyahu’s ‘6th Army’

Caricature Chief Rabbi Sacks Caught off Guard

undefined

By Gilad Atzmon

Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks was caught off guard during a Radio 4 interview this morning when he accused Iran of being part of the Gaza conflict.

Appearing on the Today programme broadcast he was asked by presenter Evans Davis for his reaction to the situation in Gaza immediately after delivering the daily peaceful ‘Thought for the Day’.

He initially responded: 'I think it's got to do with Iran, actually.' Rabbi Sacks clearly spoke his mind.

But when the Rabbi was told he was live on air, he quickly changed his spots and  responded by making a plea for peace saying: "A continued prayer for peace is needed, not only in Gaza but the whole region.'

Tel Aviv is next.

Soon after we learned that the  Israeli Air Force managed to 'dismantle' Hamas' middle range ballistic capability, we  happened to read that Tel Aviv is subject to rockets attack. I guess that by the time Israel is 'ready for peace', it may be on its knees.

The verdict is clear, the Israelis  never learn. I guess that Israel will unleash its wrath tonight. Justice Goldstone, better dust off his judicial hammer.

Ali Abunimah on Gaza and Lust (Video + comment)

Here is a rare opportunity to watch Ali Abunimah doing what he is good at.

Abunimah is certainly one of the best Palestinian spokespersons, Here he manages to present the correct time line that led to the current escalation in Gaza.  Abunimah better concentrate on exposing Israeli criminality, rather than chasing the enemies of Israel within our ranks.

However, in this short interview Abunimah refers twice to Israel's 'irrational lust for violence' and I am left slightly puzzled.  Just a year ago, the same Abunimah was outraged by my criticism of Jewish and Israeli culture. I would love to learn from  Abunimah what he has in mind when he talks about 'Israel’s lust for violence'.  Isn’t he directly referring here to some sort of collective culture or even biology? Can we grasp the notion of ‘lust’ without a reference to biology or culture?

Abunimah better spend some time reading The Wandering Who. The book will provide him with a deep insight into ‘Israel’s lust for violence’. It will also provide him with the necessary information regarding the cultural heritage that led toward the emergence of such a genocidal cult.

Israel: Petraeus was unfaithful to us

http://glossynews.com/top-stories/201211141728/israel-petraeus-was-unfaithful-to-us/

Israel: Petraeus was unfaithful to us

This reporter has confirmed some of the suspicions that CIA Director David Petraeus’ infidelity went well beyond his dalliance with Paula Broadwell. One well-placed source confirmed that, “My God, if we had to sack everyone in the military and intelligence communities for sleeping around, we would be decimated! Petraeus must have done something much worse.”

RIGHT: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu is breaking up with CIA Director David Petraeus due to his infidelity to Israel. (CLICK TO ENLARGE)

Some discrete inquiries led, as usual, to Israel, and a very high placed contact that I cannot reveal but to whom I will refer as B.B. Here is what he had to say:

Barb Wire: B.B., you admit to some concerns about General Petraeus. Please elaborate.

B.B.: As you know, Barb, the U.S. and Israel have a relationship that goes well beyond friendship. I’m afraid Gen. Petraeus betrayed that relationship.

    Barb Wire: What happened?

B.B.: In 2010, he described Israel as a strategic liability for the U.S. because our struggle to liberate as much land as possible from Palestinians and our Arab neighbors is an obstacle to resolving the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East. He even had the nerve to say it in front of Congress!
